Music & Rituals
Another song that made the wedding memorable was the 'Chicken Dance.' This song isn’t usually played at weddings, but it added a fun twist to the mix of traditional music. It was a delightful surprise that caught most guests off guard, because it was played right after the father daughter dance. As the song went on, more and more people joined in, laughing and dancing together. Even the older guests got up to join the fun, creating a blend of generations. The energy of the dance brought everyone closer, breaking any remaining social barriers. It became a highlight for me because i never would have guessed anyone would put this in their wedding, plus it was just very fun and exciting! It created moments everyone would remember. The sight of family and friends flapping their arms and moving in sync filled the room with laughter and cheers, turning a lighthearted moment into a cherished memory that perfectly captured the spirit of celebration. By the end, people were breathless with laughter, and even those hesitant at first couldn’t resist joining in. The 'Chicken Dance' brought very playful energy that turned the dance floor into a place of pure joy and unforgettable moments.
- Side note I loved seeing some of the old couples rush to the dance floor to do the chicken dance. Just because they did not have a care in the world and just wanted to have some fun!
At weddings, there’s a special tradition where the father and daughter share a dance, choosing a song that has deep meaning for them both. My cousin selected 'My Little Girl' by Tim McGraw, and it brought a very emotional atmosphere to the room, bringing the mood down a little as everyone watched. Seeing them gracefully twirl around the dance floor. When everyone was watching them the room was quiet but you could see how proud her father was.Watching them gracefully twirl across the dance floor brought me to tears, and I could feel how precious this moment was for both of them and for everyone who witnessed it.
Hi CJ, your post is really good. The song Wobble is so good and adding it to your post makes it really interesting. But what makes it even more funnier is the Chicken Dance to be honest. Everyone has different rituals in their life and your experiences with them are very interesting. Good job!!
ReplyDeleteThe 'Wobble' is such an iconic wedding (or any celebration) song to play. The 'father-daughter' dance at weddings is always so beautiful and sometimes can be a tearjerker just because you can see the love and pride in the dad's eyes when looking at his little girl. That's such a sweet song. Thank you for sharing, CJ!
ReplyDeleteThat father-daughter dance sounds so special! I can imagine how you could get emotional watching it. The Chicken Dance is such a fun addition to a wedding and sounds like it would be really fun to participate in. Overall your cousin's wedding sounds like it was a really fun night, thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteHi CJ! I really enjoyed reading your post. I also used to love the song wobble. Anytime me and my friends would hear it at a softball tournament we would all run and dance together. I'm glad you and your family have good times with that song!!
ReplyDeleteHi CJ, I can bet that the song "The Wobble" brought everybody together and created a vibe where every single person wanted to dance and enjoy the moment. Personally, I would have done the same because I really like the song. Nice blog on your blog, keep going !
ReplyDeleteHey CJ, really funny seeing these songs because of just how random songs in rituals or rituals in general can be. It's super relatable seeing the chicken dance song because the older people in my family do the same exact thing but with different songs, it comes on and everyone rushes to have fun and dance.
